My IVF Story Got Published!
I’ve always wanted to share my story through various platforms, and my IVF journey to conceive Barney is a big part of that. As a passionate advocate for IVF, accessible healthcare, and women’s health, I’m proud that this article was published through the Jewish Fertility Foundation, a nonprofit I support.
Shabbat Shalom!
We’ve talked a lot about the power of support, community, and breaking the stigma—but nothing speaks louder than the voices of those who have lived it.
Today, we want to introduce you to Danielle Roessle, who writes, “One of the most valuable sources of support was the Jewish Fertility Foundation (JFF).
Through JFF, I participated in support groups, met with my local coordinator, and worked with a Fertility Buddy—others who had walked this road before me and alongside me. These connections reminded me that I wasn’t alone.
In moments of doubt, my Fertility Buddy and the DC Manager reassured me of what I might experience during a procedure. JFF gave me not only resources but also a community of people who truly understood.”

“I had always wanted children, ever since I was eight years old. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I didn’t say a teacher or a doctor—I said a mom. I never imagined it would take a long medical journey to make that happen.
Throughout my twenties and thirties, I dated, hoping to find a life partner to build my dream and start a family. Finally, in April 2019, at the age of 35, I met my match. We married in April 2020 and started trying for a baby in March 2021.
When I was younger, I imagined conceiving naturally in my twenties and having three to six children. In reality, the things we want most sometimes take the longest and require the hardest work.
I had read books on the mindset around fertility and believed that if I envisioned a beautiful baby, I would be able to have one. But after nine months of trying with no success, we connected with Shady Grove Fertility in Rockville, Maryland, through a cousin who had previously worked there. That was when my IVF journey began.
