Hello everyone! It’s been a little while since I last updated you all, and I wanted to take a moment to share some recent developments in our lives. I hope this post finds you and your loved ones well. Life has been a whirlwind lately, particularly with medical appointments and preparing for a big transition in Barney’s childcare.
The Move to Daycare
The most significant change we’re gearing up for involves transitioning Barney to daycare. Up until now, we’ve had a night nurse helping us since I came out of the hospital. However, her time with us will come to an end on June 2nd. This means Barney will be starting daycare on June 3rd, a move that brings a mix of emotions.
Initially, we had a different plan for childcare. I had envisioned balancing some work while getting occasional help at home. Unfortunately, with the frequency and intensity of medical appointments, this plan just wasn’t feasible. After much research and consideration, we found a daycare that we really like and feel comfortable with for Barney.
Mixed Emotions
Of course, as any parent can relate to, I’m feeling a bit apprehensive about this transition. Trusting someone else with your child is never easy, especially when it’s for an extended period of the day. However, I believe that Barney will be in great hands and that this daycare can provide the care and social environment he needs.
Juggling Medical Appointments
Another major factor influencing our decision has been the seemingly endless stream of medical appointments. These appointments have become a central part of our daily lives and have taken up more time and energy than I initially anticipated. Balancing these commitments with childcare proved to be more challenging than expected, making the decision to enroll Barney in daycare an absolute necessity.
Life has been a blend of excitement and stress as we prepare for Barney’s transition to daycare and manage ongoing medical commitments. Though this period has its challenges, I’m optimistic about the positive changes ahead.
I’m currently seeking a kidney donor and I’m working with an organization called DOVE to help facilitate the experience.
