On February 4, 2024, I gave birth to my beautiful son, Barney Isaac. While Barney was delivered relatively healthy (with some bruising on his head), I did not fare as well.

Due to complications from a forceps delivery, I lost a lot of blood, which resulted in a lack of oxygen to my kidneys.

This marked the beginning of a 35-day stay in the hospital and seven surgeries, including the loss of my uterus.

Through this blog, I hope to chronicle my journey to finding a kidney donor and my path to healing.

My kidney journey will be lifelong because there is currently no cure for kidney disease. However, a donor kidney can help prolong my health for years to come.

I’m currently seeking a kidney donor and I’m working with an organization called DOVE to help facilitate the experience.
